Minulý týden se syrský prezident setkal v Damašku s parlamentní delegací a jedno z hlavních vyjádření Bašára Asada se týkalo křestanů :"Budu chránit křestany, protože pouze oni jsou schopni udržet v Sýrii stabilitu a rovnováhu i pro islám."
Ve slovech Asada je cítit i skrytá bolest. V proudu nynějších uprchlíků do Evropy je křesťanů jen velice, velice málo, sotva několik procent. I když logicky by to mělo být naopak. Proč ? Z černobílých kopií hledí na kolemjdoucí mladí chlapci v uniformě, kteří zahynuli ve válce za svou Sýrii, za tu, ve které bylo místo pro všechna náboženství pod sluncem.
Největší komunita křesťanů žila vHomsu.A není náhoda, že právě zde,v křest. čtvrtích, se odehrály nejtěžší boje.Dnes tam není nic k vidění a není s kým mluvit - celé čtvrti se proměnily v dekorace k apokalyptickým filmům.Jedeme na okraj města, do kostela Zjevení Bohorodičky ve Fajuze.Tady se nebojovalo, nic tu nepřipomíná válku, kromě těžkého rachotu artilerie kdesi za obzorem.Pár minut si povídáme s metropolitou Homsu, Chamy a Tartusu Selvanosem Burtusem Alnemechovem. Děkuje nám za modlitby duchovních bratrú v Rusku.Vypráví, že před 2 týdny byl v Moskvě,setkal se s patriachou Kirilem a chystá se ještě jednou do Ruska.
Na hrudi má medailku s Boží matkou, je to starobylá ruská práce ve stříbrném rámečku.Také obzazy v chrámu jsou stejné jako ty ruské.Jenom lavice, které v ruských chrámech chybí, se k rodnému kontextu nehodí. Také kříže jsou jiné, také obrovská okna a plno světla.
Kostel je plný lidí- pdařilo se nám přijet právě na začátek svatebního obřadu. Voják křesťanské domobrany Vasil Green si bere kamarádku z dětství Rod Asaaf.Nás s kameramanem pustili až k oltáři a přes rameno bátušky se díváme do bible v jeho rukou. Obřad probíhá v aramejštině, jazyce Ježíše Krista. Za 40 minut vše končí a hosté odcházejí na hostinu vedle kostela.Rychle se stmívá, ještě nejde elektřina. Generátory před obchody běží naplno.Na prostranství před chrámem stojí kříž ovinutý olivovou ratolestí, kt.se houpe na křivém osmanském kinžálu.. Kříž postavili jako připomínku vraždění křesťanů před sto lety. A ještě se neví, jakým symbolem označit současnou genocidu, která je po všech stránkách hroznější.To , co se nyní děje na území IS, má logiku- je to nepřetržitá likvidace ne-muslimů.

Reaching Charlie’s we entered the front door and sat in a booth near the window. A beautiful young American Chinese girl came,smiled and said hello to Elise and gave us menus and asked if we wanted drinks in the meantime.
"No thanks Lin just a pot of Jasmine tea for us please." Lin went back to the kitchen area. “No booze for me today as I will have to work in the bar so it is just tea for me.”
